Garage Brewing Co., Temecula, CA

Background- Garage Brewing Co.

Lou Kashmere opened Garage Brewing Co. in 2013. The brewery space is in what was a garage at the end of Old Town Temecula, hence the name. The garage happens to be next to the Shell gas station Lou owns. Lou became interested in the fast, casual pizza market that had been popping up around Southern California. He also felt a quality pizza would pair well with quality beer. He researched ingredients and ovens to find the right match for the pizza. The brewery opened with a 10-barrel brewing system.

In 2016 the brewing arm expanded to a production facility in Murrieta with a state-of-the-art 30 barrel brewhouse. Garage could now perform their own canning, bottling, and kegging. The smaller-scale brewpub in Temecula  focuses on brewing “one-offs,” that are used to test out a concept, and small batch brews. Guy Bartmess, brewmaster, has been a home brewer since the late 80’s and went professional in the mid 90s.

Experience

We arrived at Garage Brewing Co. on a Thursday about the time they opened. We got a spot at the bar and promptly ordered a flight. Lou was there and talked about several new brews they created. We also talked about the production facility in Murrieta. It is apparent Lou loves talking with his patrons and has passion for his new endevour.

There were eighteen different beers on tap that day. Some of our favorites : Hazy #8 & Juicy Boom both NEIPA’s, we also enjoyed two Stouts on Nitro, Dry Irish Stout & Marshmellow Stout.

Although we did not eat, their menu includes pizza, wings and salads. They also have several varieties of Garage Brewing beer that can be purchased.

When in the area check out Aftershock Brewing Co, right up the road. http://searchfortheholyale.com/aftershock-brewing-co-temecula-ca/  There are several other great breweries to enjoy in Temecula that Searchfortheholyale has reviewed. There was no nearby lodging noted.
