ackground – Sacrilege Brewing
In 2016 Sacrilege Brewing opened for business.
Owner and brewer Joe Pacini got his feet wet in the business as front of house manager at Half Moon Bay Brewing. From there he worked at a beer distributor in the San Francisco Bay area. During that time he learned all he could about the craft beer industry. Joe then had conversations with the owners of the Cowboy Fishing Company, a brewery-restaurant combo. Joe, who had recently purchased large-scale brewing equipment from a brewery that went out of business, offered to be Cowboy Fishing Company’s master brewer. It was when Cowboy Fishing closed that Joe was faced with what to do with all his brewing equipment. At that point Joe decided to open his own brewery-restaurant in the same facility.
Joe enlisted Chef Santiago Flores’ to serve up some interesting food and every three months he offers a 4-course beer paired dinner.
Experience
We arrived to Sacrilege Brewing on a Wednesday afternoon to find a couple of patrons had rode their horses to the pub. Nice touch. Sacrilege is a cozy place, converted house with a nice size front porch to enjoy the ales. Inside, there are several large tables. Beer and food is ordered at the counter. They were out of several beers listed and we ended up trying Pumper pineapple Pale Ale and it was pretty good. We also enjoyed a guest lager. We did order some good food, including much needed fresh vegetable, touted as local.
When heading down Highway One check out Humble Sea Brewing.
