Background – 8 Bit Brewing Company
Owners and brothers Chris and Jeff Keyson and co-owner Susan Arnold, a video game designer in Santa Monica and sister to Chris’s wife Sarah opended the doors to 8 Bit Brewing Company in late 2016. The trio’s idea was to hook up with a great brewer and chef and offer up a family friendly spot with great craft beer and food. Jeff Keyson is the general manager. When thinking of a name f0r the new brewery the partners recalled they all shared a love for video games of the 80’s. Thus was created the name of 8-bit and the pixelated artwork of the brewery.
Experience
We arrived at 8 Bit Brewing Company on Wednesday late afternoon. There are several tables and a bar inside and a large outdoor patio with gas fire pits and TV’s. We chose to cuddle up next to a fire table. Being a fan of the hazy craze, we enjoyed , Decadent Refill a hazy IIPA, The Oregon Pale and especially Boots of Mad Hops a hazy session IPA that had a great nose.
The menu contains some good looking salads, burgers and sandwiches. We enjoyed a great salad and a panini.
