2nd Shift Brewing, St. Louis, MO

Background – 2nd Shift Brewing

2nd Shift Brewing co-owners Steve and Libby Crider have been making beer since 2010. They relocated their brewery to Sublette Avenue, just south of Manchester Avenue on the Hill in December 2016.  It is located in a sketchy industrial area.  Our uber driver had a bit of difficulty finding it and it took two calls to uber to get picked up!

Experience

We arrived in the early evening on a Tuesday and found the place to be packed.  Our luck, it was the monthly trivia night. We were lucky to find a group that allowed us to take a couple seats on one of their church pews.  The new place is packed with barrels and many delicious beers. My understanding is that if you arrive early enough, you can get a variety of snack items. Their beer is unique, delicious and pricey. We loved the Ronnie James PeDIO they created with Against the Grain in Louisville, great barrel nose and smooth sour flavor. Also enjoyed Don’s Dirty Dozen, a delicious barrel aged Brett Saison.  There is a small deck outside, but the interior is spacious with many large tables and a decent sized bar.

No nearby lodging noted. We suggest you do not miss 2nd Shift when in St. Louis! Grab a bottle to go.
