Silver Moon Brewing, Bend OR

Background

Silver Moon Brewing was established in 2000 on Division Street by Tyler Reichert as a home brewing supply and nano brewery. By 2004 it evolved into a brewpub. The company moved to its current location on Greenwood Avenue in 2004 and evolved into a brewpub. Within that facility Reichert installed a new and larger brewing system that came on line in 2005. Silver Moon is the third oldest brewery in Bend. In 2017 co-owner James Watts Matt Barrett and James Watts bought the brewery. The tasting room was closed for a few months while they remodeled. Silver Moon canned beer became distributed across Oregon and Washington and the team re-branded their 22 ounce bottle.

Experience

Silver Moon Brewing is an interesting brew pub situated in a large building with many beautiful murals on the walls.  Finally found a sour in Bend.  Their Barrel aged (Pinot Gris Barrels) Sour Elf was great.  Also enjoyed the HopNob IPA & Crazy Horse IIPA.  Varietal menu as well, enjoyed some delicious fish tacos.  Several nights they also offer live music.

There is a Days Inn & a Red Lion less than a half mile fr0m both Silver Moon and Deschutes Public House.

When in Bend you must also visit Crux Fermentation Project , Cascade Lakes Brewing and Bend Brewing Company !
