UPDATE: We are very sad to announce Scottsdale Beer Co did not survive the pandemic. We are happy to find out their brewer Brad Williams did move to the new Throne Brewing!
One of Scottsdale’s newest breweries is the Scottsdale Beer Company. They opened New Years Day 2015 on a soft rollout. It is an ambitious team opening with a large drinking/dining area, patio, large wrap around bar and full restaurant. Early on we met Doug Ledger, the Managing Partner, and the Head Brewer Brad Williams. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Right away they had a great selection of food menu items. A few of our favorites are the Shepherds Pie (no longer on the menu), chopped salads, fried pickles and house-made jerky. The meatloaf is also first rate comfort food! First brewpub I have come across that makes their own jerky! Early on, Brad had started with two beer offerings and was running small experimental batches we could try. In no time he is up to eleven ale offerings with new varieties all the time. To my liking, Brad continues to create new varieties of IPAs. This is one place not to miss when in the Phoenix area.
There is a La Quinta Inn & Suites within a four minute walk to Scottsdale Beer. When in the area you need to also visit McFate Brewing west on Shea Blvd about 1.8 miles.
