Motorworks Brewing, Bradenton, FL

Background

Frank and Denise Tschida opened Motorworks Brewing in 2014, becoming Bradenton’s first craft brewery. As soon as they laid their eyes on the Bradenton property, they knew they had found something Special. The facility was built in 1923 and served as a Hudson Motors dealership. Bob Haa is the head brewer.

In 2017, Motorworks doubled its production capacity by securing three 150-barrel fermenters and a pair of 30-barrel fermenters.

In 2019, Motorworks announced they were opening a brewery/restaurant in downtown Orlando.

Experience

One of two great brewpubs in Bradenton.  Motorworks Brewing is a big place with huge beer garden outside.  Tried a flight or two, many interesting beers to try.  They had four different Kolsch on tap-favorite, Nugget – fresh cut grass, tropical fruit essence, also Lavender Ale- lavender and tarragon, Short Shift Scotch Ale-smokey peat flavor – good, Oyster Stout-oyster and seaweed salty smokey goodness, and 2 Stroke DIPA-big piney citrus nose and flavor.  I could live near this brewery!  Very friendly staff & patrons. Didn’t eat but, pretty good looking menu with pizza, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. If nearby also find Darwin’s brewery about a mile away on 17th Avenue.

There is a Hampton Inn on 10th Street about a half mile away.

When visiting Motorworks, check out Darwin Brewing Company !
