Head Brewer and Owner, Dan Brouillette, opened Lumen Beer Co. June 2022. He home brewed for years and finally realized his dream of opening his own brewery.
In his previous life Brouillette travelled a lot for his job and always made a point to connect with local breweries. He compiled many different recipes he can now further experiment on. He is starting with a five-barrel brewhouse and hopes to produce several beers per week.
Brouilette completely gutted and remodeled a former antique store in a 100 year old building. The new tasting room added to the other small businesses in a part of town referred to as Little Bohemia on South 13th street.
Experience
We walked into Lumen on a Wednesday afternoon during a quick trip to Omaha. The tasting room has a good vibe and we were excited to see so many New England IPAs on tap. During our Omaha visit, Lumen definitely served up the best hazies. We were also impressed with the wide range of offerrings from hazy IPA to Sours to Porters and Stouts. Beertender was friendly and they offer cans to go.
The tasting room is also dog friendly and is handicapped accessible. we stayed at one of the hotels about a mile away. When in Omaha, we suggest Lumen is a must stop! When in Nebraska, we suggest you also visit Thunderhead Brewing and Pals Brewing!
