Update
We are saddened to hear Grasslands Brewing closed its doors in July 2019.
Background
Gabe and Saralyn Grass opened Grasslands Brewing Company in 2015.
Before having a brick-and-mortar brewery, there were many years of brewing, fundraising, testing, and planning. They started with the “Grasshoppers Review Club” — a program that provided beer enthusiasts opportunities to sample GrassLands’ beer (before brewery plans existed) in exchange for comments, reviews, tweaks — the brewery was developed with an open dialogue between consumer and crafter in mind. GrassLands launched a crowd-sourced fundraising campaign featuring their signature wit, sincerity, and self-deprecating humor, to raise funds for what would eventually be their Gaines St. home
Experience
Fun little pub with the friendliest beer tenders! Large outdoor patio was hosting live music the night we were there. Cozy interior. G-Street Kolsch was clean and crisp, the Rising Embers Tropical IPA was more of an east coast style IPA, malty with nondescript hop nose. No food , just beer and wine. We could see this brew pub from our hotel window at the Residence Inn! Next door to the pub was a cool pizza place, Gaines Street Pies. Around the corner and down the street a bit we walked to another neat brewery called Proof. Grasslands Brewing company will always hold a special place in our hearts! Just a great, rainy night in Tallahassee.
This is a rare area where you can stay within walking distance to two brewpubs, Grasslands & Proof! Stay at Residence Inn Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol.
When in Tallahassee check out Proof Brewing !
