Background
Proof Brewing was founded by Byron & Angela Burroughs in 2012. Byron & Angela Burroughs originally moved to Tallahassee in 2005 to develop a piece of property with partners on Gaines St. as a restaurant / bar mixed use space. The Burroughs owned a liquor license & could see the need to develop the craft beer market here. Craft beer was something they were always been passionate about, so they purchased the Tennessee St. building in 2007. They began focusing on offering the public unique and hard to find craft beer from the U.S. The Burroughs then began to discuss the opportunity to brew their own beer. They decided to start small with a 3 barrel system in the lower portion of the Tennessee St. location.
Experience
Proof Brewing Company is a very large brewery with a festive outdoor space and hip interior located in the Railroad Square Arts district near Florida State University. The Mango Wit was particularly delicious. Good IPA in the Guru. We made it over there shortly before last call with just enough time for a game of cornhole and a couple of beers! Proof Brewing Company seems like a great place to hang out a while.
