Background
The owner of the highly acclaimed JT Schmid’s restaurant and brewery, Jason Schmid, unexpectedly died of a heart-related ailment at his home in Orange in 2019. Schmid opened the popular Anaheim restaurant, and it quickly blossomed into the go-to place for pre- and post-game meals before and after Angels and Ducks game. Following his success, he launched a second restaurant in 2006 at the District in Tustin.
Jason Schmid, was a local guy and a star quarterback in local high school and college.
Experience
JT Schmid’s Restaurant and Brewery is a large restaurant brewery in Anaheim. Fun place to catch a game, eat and drink a beer. They usually have six standard beers they brew as well as a full bar. The beers we tried were OK, none really jumped out at me. They do have a full menu and the appetizers and meals we tried was good. The night we were there, they did have a live band on the patio that were entertaining.
There is walkable lodging at Ayres Hotel Anaheim. It is also a short Uber from the convention center hotels.
