Background
Greg Anderson and Benjamin Dubois, M.D. opened Bay City Brewing Company in late 2015. Greg has been a San Diego resident for 35 years and owns McGregor’s Grill and Ale House in Mission Valley. Ben is a successful orthopedic surgeon in San Diego. Both men share a love of craft beer and got together to create Bay City. Along with Chris West, the head brewer, the trio worked together with an architect to create the 20-barrel brewery.
Experience
Bay City Brewing Company is right off interstate 8 as you drive into San Diego. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty crowded. The facility has plenty of tables inside and a long bar overlooking the brewing equipment. Just outside is a patio area. We got a flight and particularly enjoyed the experimental Pale Ale, Sour Wheat, Power Play IPA & Coffee Pale Ale. They do not offer food but do have rotating food trucks.
