Birdsong Brewing, Charlotte, NC

Background

In 2010 Chris & Tara Goulet grew tired of the corporate grind and started formulating an idea of a brewpub.  Conor Robinson was identified as the head brew master. Birdsong Brewing started in 2011 with just two full-time employees. After some early success the new taproom opened in April 2015 in a 17,000-square-foot building in the Belmont neighborhood.  Birdsong has a large interior area with a bar and several tables. Outside is a large patio area with many tables. The brewery is in sight of the bar area. There is no onsite food but they frequently have food trucks.

Experience

We arrived to Birdsong Brewing one evening and enjoyed a flight.  The Fresh Med Mediterranean fusion food truck provided us with a delicious lamb burger and cucumber salad.  Our favorite beer was the Fake Plastic Trees, a hoppy wheat ale that was good enough to leave with a six pack.  Even though the bar was pretty empty during our visit, the patio was well occupied by friendly folks and their canine companions. Enjoy some free peanuts!

There was no nearby lodging noted, Uber my friends.

When in Charlotte, be sure to check out Wooden Robot , Legion Brewing and Heist Brewing.
