Blazing Tree Brewery, El Paso, TX

Background

Fernie Muniz, who has been brewing beer since the 1990s opened Blazing Tree Brewery in 2017. The brewery is located in the back of a business park just off the I-10 on the east side of El Paso. It is a small tasting room with about 5 tables inside, a bar on the outside wall and a short bar in front of the handles.

The name the Blazing Tree Brewery came from an old story the owner told of a family member who threw a flaming bottle at a tree causing it to burst into flames.

Experience

We arrived at Blazing Tree Brewery on a Friday afternoon. We took a stool at the bar and was greeted by a friendly beer tender. There were an impressive 20 beers on tap that afternoon. We started with a flight of Butt-Naked, a Pale, Medussa Hazy, a NEIPA, Strawberry Kolsch and WarBoots Golden Ale. Also tried Dogstar NEIPA, our favorite, Mandarin IPA, and TikiMan Black IPA. We found the beers above average on the whole. Well worth a visit when in El Paso.

Walking back towards to restrooms you can see the brewing equipment.

There is no food available and no nearby lodging noted.
