Background
Bob Hiller opened The Blue Ridge Brewing Company in 1995. The brewpub was forced to leave N. Main Street in 2015 after 20 years because they lost their lease. At that point, Hiller moved the brewery to a new location on Trade Street in downtown Greer. In 2017 a new location was found near downtown Greenville along the Swamp Rabbit Trail at Westfield Street. The new location will allow the restaurant space to grow and install a microbrewery.
The Greer location will continue to operate after the new Greenville opens. The Greer restaurant is currently setting up a microbrewery next door in a building Hiller owns.
Experience
Located on the most charming main street downtown Greenville, Blue Ridge Brewing Company makes f or a delightful lunch stop. Their standard four beers were on tap when we visited-Blonde ale, ESB, . The pub is a full restaurant with many tables and a long copper bar. Brewing kettles lined the entry. The service and food we enjoyed with the very drinkable beer was top notch. Don’t forget to visit Reedy falls while in town just down the street!
There is a Holiday Inn Express & Suites Greenville-Downtown within walking distance to brew pub and falls.
