Bricksworth Beer Co. Background
Bricksworth Beer Co. in Burnsville, Minnesota opened in 2020. Because of the pandemic, they started with curbside service. The north loop location opened its doors in February 2023. Bricksworth is owned by Cooper Johnson. Johnson is the son of Scott and Shawne Murphy-Johnson, who founded BlackStack Brewing in St. Paul. After working at his parents brewery, Johnson wanted to start his own brewery and offer food options.
Bricksworth’s beer is brewed at the Burnsville location.
Experience
We visited the Bricksworth Beer Co., located in the historic Designer’s Guild Building in the heart of North Loop. We found a lot of seating inside for a cozy brewpub feel. For nice weather, the patio looks great with had lots of high-tops and tables, and even some comfy patio furniture for seating. It’s a beautiful outdoor spot right on the metro line with greenery around.
We found 6 different New England style IPAs on tap, offering a broad spectrum of flavors from the interesting variety of hops used. We had to try them all so we ordered a flight. Might be the best beer we found on this trip. They also offered a few sours, lagers and a Porter. Most were brewed by Bricksworth but they also had a few from the families BlackStack Brewing.
Pizza and wings appeared to be their specialties but the also offer burgers, fries and salads. We had to try the Box Logo pizza, a Detroit style pizza that was delish.
The Hewing Hotel is not far from Bricksworth. When in the area, check out Arbeiter Brewing and Yoerg Brewing.
