Background – Cascade Lakes Brewing
In late 2018, Father-and-son Bruce and Andy Rhine have acquired a majority stake in Bend, Oregon-based Cascade Lakes Brewing. Bruce Rhine fell in love with homebrewing after graduating from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2017. Since then, he said his family explored opening a brewery.
Cascade operates a 25-barrel production facility in Redmond, Oregon, as well as two pubs — the 7th Street Brew House in Redmond and the Cascade Lakes Lodge in Bend.
The owners state several changes are on tap for the brewery, including transitioning from bottles to cans, launching a barrel-aging program and potentially opening more pubs in Oregon. In addition, Cascade Lakes’ brewing team is also exploring beverages outside of traditional beer, such as CBD-infused drinks, hard seltzers and cider.
Experience
We really enjoyed Cascade Lakes Brewpub. Try to sit on patio if weather allows. The beers were not the best in Bend but with 6 year arounds and 6 seasonals to taste it makes for a fun event. I did enjoy their fresh hop IPA and the Bombshell blonde on nitro. Excellent Ahi tuna appetizer and Mahi Mahi tacos! Some nights have live music.
There is a Fairfield Inn & Suites Bend Downtown and TownePlace Suites Bend within walking distance.
