Comrade Brewing Company, Denver CO

Background

Comrade Brewing Company was the brainchild of David Lin after he decided he liked brewing beer more than managing corporate dining operations. In 2010, he quit his day job in Denver to work with area brewers, then got his MBA, and then opened his own brewery with Marks Lanham in 2014. The name was a shortening of camaraderie, which captured the spirit of his future business but contained too many syllables.

The 5,300-square-foot location includes a tap room with space for more than ninety people and a fifteen-barrel brewing system.

Marks Lanham won Small Brewing Company Brewer of the year in 2019.

Experience

Comrade Brewing Company opened their doors in April 2014. They are kind of out of the way located southeast of downtown. The tasting room is fairly large with plenty of tables and two bars.  It was somewhat quite the afternoon we stopped in for a flight.  I enjoyed the Silver medal winning Superpower IPA with its big hoppy nose. The other beers we tried were OK.  The beertenders were pleasant enough.  No food on sight but the do have food trucks from time to time.

They have plenty of parking. They do fill growlers and offers crowlers.

No nearby lodging noted.
