Background – Eponymous Brewing
Like many other brewery start ups, SDSU alumni Kyle McElhany and Sean Weber started with home brewing. The two fell in love with the process of brewing and their friends and family loved their creations. McElhany’s background in microbiology and Weber’s business background, combined with a mutual love of craft beer resulted in the formation of Eponymous Brewing Company in 2017.
After securing a location in the Lofts at Main of Brookings, South Dakota, the duo began the buildout and licensure process for the two barrel nanobrewery operation, that commenced production in March 2018.
Experience
We rolled into Eponymous on a Tuesday afternoon during a recent visit to South Dakota. The tasting room has a cool vibe and we were amazed by the variety and number of beers on tap.We ordered a flight and enjoyed all of them. We were really surprised they offered a THC Selzer! We didn’t try one but we’ve never seen that before. There is also outdoor seating when the weather is good. They offer a few different snacks and you can get growler fills.
