Background – Goldwater Brewing Company
Goldwater Brewing Company is the first brewery in Old Town Scottsdale to brew on site. Greg, Chad, and Dillon McClelland opened Goldwater Brewing in 2015. 30 years of brewing in your garage sometimes ends up opening your own brewery with your kids. Both Greg and his wife Pam grew up in Scottsdale. Chad McClelland, the oldest son of the family and is The Brewmaster of Goldwater Brewing. Dillon, the youngest McClelland sibling is in charge of photography on their social media, their artfully slick can labels, the hand written beer signs, and their merchandise. Jimmy Disken, the husband of Greg and Pam’s oldest child and only daughter, Treva, is the General Manager of Goldwater Scottsdale.
Second Location
In early 2020 Goldwater Brewing Company opened a tasting room in the Longbow Marketplace in East Mesa. The tasting room is handicapped accessible.
Experience
We have been to Goldwater’s in Mesa a few times now. It is a much different vibe than the downtown Scottsdale location. Much more spacious with plenty of parking options. Inside is a large L shaped bar, several tables inside and a large patio outside. Same great beer is available by the pint or take out cans. Our favorite beers continue to be their hazy IPAs such as Hop Chowda and the unique deep red Desert Rose, a Cactus Kolsch pictured below.
There is no food available from Goldwater, but right next door is a MOD Pizza and the other side a Rumbi Island grill. We grab some food and enjoy a beer on the patio.
