Experience – Granite Mountain Brewing
Tucked between antique shops on historic Cortez Street in downtown Prescott AZ, Granite Mountain Brewing is a hip and trendy little brewery and taproom. The gorgeous handcrafted wood bar is the centerpiece of this bright establishment. There are several tables and a couple of sofas to get comfy in too. Unfortunately, the selection of house brewed beer was limited. We tried the flight that included the Bombshell Blonde golden ale, American Wheat pale wheat ale, the Black Cow Milk Stout and Attitude Adjuster (Double IPA) A local brew fest was happening that weekend so no IPA was available. Nothing was growler worthy. The golden ale tasted too much of banana although it was the favorite of my cohort. The milk stout was indeed milky, too much for my taste. I enjoyed the wheat ale. The Double IPA, a bit too alcohol forward. A good selection of guest taps offered more options. A nice food menu is available and the quinoa salad with chicken we shared was very delicious. The pride taken in preparation of the food was evident. There is also a very cool hidden patio behind the brewery!
Update
Recent visit found 15 of their own beers on tap. Favorites include Bubble Dreams, a Brut IPA and Javelina Jaze, a hazy NEIPA. The beers keep improving. Granite Mountain Brewing no longer offers food other than some pub snack.
There is the historic Hassayampa Inn & the Hotel St. Michael right in the area.
