Ladyface Ale Companie, Agoura Hills, CA

Background

A decade after its opening in an Agoura Hills shopping center helped launch the craft-beer scene in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, Ladyface Ale Companie and its on-site restaurant have a new owner.

Pete Lee, a Ladyface patron bought the combination brewery and brasserie from its founder, Cyrena Nouzille, in late October. Dave Griffiths, Ladyface’s founding brewmaster is staying on.

Experience

Billed as an alehouse and brasserie, Ladyface Ale Companie lives up to that description. It serves up a nice selection of Belgian style beer and delicious food in a charming setting.  It was too warm for the patio, but the dining room was cozy with a European ambiance.  We sampled a flight that included a couple of sours, farmhouse ale, a spiced wheat beer and IPA.  We rated everything we tried above average to excellent.  That is a rarity, to discover so many varietal and well brewed beers in one place! The French inspired cuisine was also excellent.  We bought a bottle to take home.  This microbrewery and pub was a short Uber ride from our Sheraton.  It might have been a nice walk if the main street had not been under construction.  Nearby  is the Twisted Oak Tavern which houses the LAB brewing company.

No nearby lodging noted but the Sheraton and Homewood Suites are a low cost Uber ride away.

When in the area check out Phantom Carriage Brewery.
