Background – Mastry’s Brewing Co.
Matthew Dahm, an entrepreneur, engineer and a Florida native had the idea of a brew pub in 2014. He eventually paired up with Micheil Mcelvey, to open the first craft brewery and tasting room on St. Pete Beach. Mastry’s Brewing Co. began with one-and-a-half-barrel nanobrewery at Moran’s Tyrone Square restaurant, CD Roma. After a year they moved to the current location in St Pete Beach.
Formerly home to a quick-change tire shop, the brewery’s new 1,750-square-foot space offers a different place to enjoy a hand crafted beer.
Experience
We arrived Mastry’s Brewing Co. grabbing a spot at the bar. We ordered a flight and tried five of their offerings. I favored the Porter. There is a bar right off the brewing area and an indoor area with a bar. Outside on a patio is a dog friendly place to enjoy yourself. Food is not served. Just across the street is a great little Italian Restaurant, there also seemed to be several pizza places in the area.
We found Mastry’s to be unique in that they have partnered with Evil Twin Coffee Company from the start. In between beers you can enjoy fresh cold-brew coffee and even coffee on nitro. We also liked the tasting glasses. Enjoy the mascot dog running around.
