 Experience

Looking for a craft beer between San Jose and Carmel?  English Ale House in Marina was closed (even though their website indicated they were open) so we headed to historic old town Salinas.
That was a good decision.  Main Street where Monterey Coast Brewing was located was very charming.  The brew pub felt so familiar when we walked in. It has been operating since 2001 so maybe I have been there before.  Brick walls are adorned with the beers’ logos. It is such a comfy pub with a nice selection of on site brewed beer. We got a flight of several of the 12! beers they had to offer. We especially enjoyed the American Wheat, Scottish Red, Pilsner and two seasonals; Christmas Winter ale and Octoberfest. Our server, Daniel, was so friendly. The prices are GREAT!  This brewery also has delicious food. Make sure to order the fried artichoke hearts!  To top it off the National Steinbeck Center is right down the street!
Did not note walkable lodging although there are three in a row about 1.5-2.o miles away.
