We understand Nodding Head Brewery closed its original location and reopened in another location which we identified in this blog.
Nodding Head Brewery is a unique brewpub at 1516 Sansom Street, in city center Philadelphia. It was on the 2nd floor of the building. We visited a week before they were going to close because of the end of their release. Because they couldn’t come to an agreement with the landlord they are being forced to move. At this point they are not sure where they will reopen.
They have had several years of various beer awards over the years. The staff were great and the surroundings quite interesting. Their award winning Ich Bin Ein Berlinger Weisse was quite delicious with notable tartness. Equinox, a beautiful reddish brown ale they claim to be malt forward we found to be smokey and delicious. Ostap, which to us seemed an unfiltered wheat, and good and 700 level they claimed to be a blond ale seemed to me to be a session with a fresh hop flavor was delicious. I understand from other patrons their food menu was also very good.
Watch for the new opening and give them a try.
We stayed at the nearby Marriott and was quite walkable.
