Pals Brewing Company, North Platte, NE

Background

Pals Brewing Company materialized in 2015 at an Oettinger Family Thanksgiving dinner. Paul Oettinger (aka Pal) started homebrewing back in college. After earning his Microbiology degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he began experimenting with many beer styles and perfecting his recipes.

Eventually, Paul and his family and friends got the business plans together and opened Pals Brewing in 2017. Things have gone well the last several years and Paul is now planning on opening a second Pals in Wisconsin, near Wisconsin Dells by the end of 2024.

Experience

Driving through Nebraska, we came across Pals and stopped in one Tuesday afternoon. We sat at the bar and ordered some food and a flight of beer. The Rib Tips and Cheese Curds were delicious. We found the variety of beer good. The food menu includes a variety of pizza and quesadillas.

The outdoor area at Pals is immense. You can find corn hole boards, a Volleyball Court, and a stage area where they host events. If that’s not enough, you can also rent a room at the Bed and Breakfast as well as stay overnight in your RV. Pals is a welcome oasis on the Nebraska plains.

Pals tasting room is accessible. They also have food and canned beer to go. When traveling through Nebraska also check out Thunderhead Brewing!
