Pinnacle Brewing, Scottsdale, AZ

The background of Pinnacle Brewing begins with Bob Wilson, a passionate home brewer in the 1990s who dreamed of opening a brewery in Kauai. His plans were put on hold with the arrival of his children.

Background Pinnacle Brewing

Bob’s son Wyatt caught the brewing bug on his own while attending Chico State. Wyatt transferred to Olds College in Alberta, Canada, where he graduated with a degree in Brewmaster and Brewery Operations at just 21.

After graduation, Wyatt enjoyed hands-on experience at renowned breweries like Dust Bowl Brewing in California, Monkless Belgian Ales in Oregon, and Mash Lab Brewery & Kitchen in Windsor, Colorado. He furthered his education by travels to Czechia, Germany, Belgium, England, and other countries steeped in brewing tradition.

Finally Wyatt and his father chose Scottsdale to open their new brewery. In May 2024, the Wilsons built the 10-barrel brewery in a former gas station. The 4,300-square-foot brewery features an expansive indoor-outdoor space with black, wood and copper accents.

Experience

Our first visit to pinnacle was about 3 weeks after they opened.  We loved the variety of beer on tap as well as the variety of glassware to serve the beer. The smokey Grodziskie was delicious and they had a decent hazy IPA. The original food truck they had also served up some unique and delicious food.

The tasting room is pretty big, accessible, with an L shaped bar and many regular tables and high tops. They placed a huge picture of Pinnacle Peak over one windowed wall on the east side of the building. Roll-up garage doors give way to the covered patio, which is equipped with misters and a sun shade.. The patio is nice sized, wrapping around two sides of the building and is dog friendly.

We have visited several times since and always enjoyed the friendly beer tenders, great beer and delicious food trucks. They continue to up their game on hazy IPAs. Recently they have been canning a larger variety of beer ready to go.

When in the area, we suggest you give Pinnacle a try! We also suggest you pay a visit to Wren House Brewing, Bone Haus Brewing, and Arizona Wilderness Brewing.
