Background – Pueblo Vida Brewing Company
Co-owners Kyle Jefferson and Linette Antillon opened Pueblo Vida Brewing Company October 29, 2014. Both University of Arizona graduates moved to the Seattle area after graduation for the purpose of getting some brewing experience. Kyle was able to get an internship at Lazy Boy Brewing where he learned about the business. The historic building PV inhabits was painstakingly taken back to its original state before bringing up to today’s standards. Much of the original materials, like the 100 year old fir planks taken out of the brewing area, were repurposed as tables.
Experience
It had been a couple years since we visited Pueblo Vida Brewing Company in Tucson, AZ. Since August of 2015 they have doubled the size of the facility. It now has plenty of space with a bar and a variety of tables. The beers Kyle is producing are only getting better and more varietal. They had nine beers on tap the day we were there. We enjoyed Circuitous, a hazy fruity hopped up DIPA and Straight Talk a New England IPA. In addition, an excellent Brett Saison with a funky barrel nose, and Strata, a beautifully juicy IPA. They have also started canning their beer and have some fabulous artwork on those cans. Show up on Sunday’s for yoga.
They currently don’t have food available, just delicious craft beer. There is a funky spot right next door with great food open 24 hours a day, “Shot in the Dark Cafe”.
