Ratio Beerworks, Denver CO

Background – Ratio Beerworks

The story goes that a trio of punk rocker refugees created Ratio Beerworks.  The trio worked together in a band, touring and learning about beer making in Europe before moving their passions back to the US. Since opening in February 2015, German-taught Jason zumBrunnen has been creating world-class saisons that are really stepping up Colorado’s farmhouse game. The trio’s background of music, art and beer creation culminated in the experience one gets at Ratio.

Experience

Ratio Beerworks is located in the RiNo district of Denver and has been credited for helping to reinvigorate the area. Besides a good beer selection, the interior art work is very cool.  The day we were at Ratio, they had eight beers to choose from. We set up a flight and enjoyed: One Year Later, a saison which had a bubble gum and banana nose with some nice lemon zest; Dear You, a light citrusy Saison; Hold Steady w/ Coffee, a scotch ale with a nice coffee nose; and their Antidote IPA had a bit of a hoppy nose and pretty good flavor.

There is no on site food, but they do have regular food trucks throughout the week.  Our Mutual Friend Brewing is a block away (Its a two-fer!). No nearby lodging noted.
