Rescue Brewing Company, Upland, CA

Background

Nikki and Neil Voskeritchian opened Rescue Brewing Company in July 2017. Nikki has lived in Upland for the last 16 years and the couple felt they wanted the business to serve Upland.  The Voskeritchians initially thought they would start with a small operation in an industrial part of town. They changed their minds after visiting the city’s planning division, and learning they could apply for federal grants if they operated in the core of the city’s historic area. Upland has been receiving federal funding as well to improve the infrastructure in historic downtown Upland. This proved to be the perfect opportunity and the couple set out to create a brewery from a former retail store. They came up with Rescue Brewing Company to represent all the first responders. The couple hosts many fund raising events too.

Experience

We arrived in downtown Upland on a Thursday afternoon. Nikki, our beertender was very helpful and pleasant. They did a great job renovating the store with the brewing equipment in the midst of the tasting room. Concrete bar and tables with the walls covered with repurposed wood gave a clean industrial like setting.  For only being open for less than a year we were impressed with 19 varieties of beer to choose from. Rescue also serves a bag of pretzels with every flight, a nice touch and something I have rarely seen. We especially enjoyed the Clear Skies IPA, Coconut Milk IPA & The Empire Strikes Black Imperial IPA. I’ll have to admit their Tropical Lager has a nice hoppy nose and would be perfect poolside. We had a great time and would have liked to had the time to explore the shops and restaurants in the area.

No nearby lodging noted. If your in the area we suggest you head over to Kings in Rancho Cucamonga.
