Tannery Bend Beerworks, Napa, CA

Background

What started as a dream of childhood friends Matt Cromwell and Oenotri’s Tyler Rodde, finally became a reality in March 2017 with the opening of Tannery Bend Beerworks. Crucial in the journey was Lauren Duncan Rodde, Mike Schneiders and indiegogo funding. Matt Cromwell was born and raised in Napa, and has worked at Silverado Brewing Company and Napa Smith Brewery within the Napa Valley. He graduated from the brewing program at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. Matt’s goal is to elevate Napa beer to its rightful place alongside the valley’s wine culture.

Experience

Man can not live on wine alone. After some quality time in Napa, we heard the call of a beer and found Tannery Bend Beerworks in Tannery Row. They have some tables and an L shapered bar inside and also a bit of a patio. The brewing equipment designed for up to 1,200 barrels a year is part of the view. As many spots in California it appears they do not have air conditioning and it was a bit warm the afternoon we arrived. We enjoyed the Spruced Up Red Ale, Double IPA & Yajome IPA. They do have a short food menu and we enjoyed the special, Pineapple Pork Sliders. Give Tannery Bend Beerworks a try.
