Background
The Bruery is a microbrewery established in Placentia, California. The brewery was founded by Patrick Rue in 2008. Belgian tradition has been a big influence in the brewery’s brewing methods and the types of beers produced. They specialize in barrel aged and experimental ales. They also opened Bruery Terreux in Anaheim and finally The Bruery Store in Washington, D.C.
In May 2017, the brewery announced they were selling a majority stake to Boston, Massachusetts-based private-equity firm Castanea Partners.
Experience
The renowned Bruery did not disappoint. They have so many beers on tap at any one time, everyone drinks flights. At peak hours, definately a line to get beers. Nice sized tasting room and no patio at the moment. No food on sight but often have food trucks. There are so many good beers its hard mention our favorites, but here I go, really like Mischief with an excellent grassy hop slightly sweet nose and a smooth hoppy flavor marketed as a Belgian Golden Strong. The famous Tart of Darkness had a slightly acetic nose, smoothed out by barrel aging, yum! The Loakal Red had a nice citrus hop nose and a clean crisp smooth hoppy flavor, delicious. The Bruery is starting to get their bottles out around the surrounding area more and more.
The Residence Inn Anaheim Placentia / Fullerton is walking distance to The Bruery. Actually, if they just had a gate through the back wall, the hotel would be just a few steps from the pub. When in the vacinity, check out Bottle Logic and Noble Ale Works.
