Background
Grand Strand Brewing was founded by Clayton Burrous, and opened in February of 2021. The brewery is located in an almost federalist style brick building. The tap room was large, and featured a tables and bar seating. The interior was spacious yet cozy and clean. The bar is located towards the back, and the side contains a dozen beer tanks each named after the Show White’s 7 dwarfs.
Experience
We arrived at Grand Strand Brewing Company in the evening, after walking up the beach from our hotel. We sat at the bar and tried a tried a flight, which featured the First Rodeo, a great sour, and Airbrush, a wonderful NEIPA. The beer was tasty, well made and refreshing. The tap room also has German style foods, and we tried a pork sandwich and bratwurst, which were both delicious and a good portion. We went in October of 2021, which is considered off-season, so it was not particularly busy, although there were enough people for it to feel lively.
Getting here
The area is walkable from the main drag of Myrtle Beach. Parking shouldn’t be difficult as there was street parking nearby and plenty of parking lots not too far off, near the strip. There are plenty of lodging options nearby.
Conclusion:
This is a great brewery to check out if you happen to be in Myrtle Beach. The beer is of high quality, and the food is on point. It is also in a convenient location.
