Background
It appears Yellowstone Beer Company opened in 2023. We could not identify the ownership or anything about how they came to be.
The Madison Crossing building that the brewery is located in was originally built in the 1930’s as West Yellowstone’s schoolhouse for grades K-12. For 30 years the town’s only drug store, Yellowstone Apothecary, was located in the former high school gym. The old gym is now Yellowstone Beer Company.
Experience
Yellowstone Beer Company is a new spot in West Yellowstone. Its a beautiful large area with that Yellowstone feel. There are some nice seating areas and they utilized the original floors of the old gymnasium. The brewpub has a second floor as well that has a few games and more seating.
We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and grabbed a table. You order beer at the bar and food at one of the counters. Your food will be delivered to you when ready.
We came for the beer, but stayed for the food. The Yellowstone menu has some unique offerings. We loved the Elk Sausage stew, the Bison stew and cornbread. Excellent selection of beer as well, we enjoyed the hazy IPA and Old Yeller.
The brewery is located in a great location to walk around with plenty to see and do after your visit. The brewery is accessible and there are several hotels within walking distance to the brewery. We recommend a visit! If you are heading to Bozeman check out MAP Brewing!
